The first couple of days of any passage are the worst,so much to do, so much to rember and all done on a moving platform, stealth is the word and we constantly tell one another
to proceed with care, one missed foot and something may break,so we are very wary in our movements. Luckily today the sea state abated and this meant everything was more relaxed, Lesley prepared a great salad at lunchtime "theme on a ceaser" and topped it off with
Lemon tartlet, bought in last minute.
Sleep is essential and if nothing is happening someone is sleeping, catnapping or resting, it is easily forgotten how much there is to do to keep the good ship Mojo moving.
Never tried before we enlisted the services of a weather router and he has sourced the best track with all the weather modules available, in detail he suggests where you tack to take advantage of the forecasted wind and currents so we are following his advice and presently heading towards 18 degrees South, where we will change course and head North for a while.
His routing has given us a time frame of 13 days as opposed to the 16 days he forecast the last time we left.
I have just completed the 16:00 Log and we achieved 135 nautical miles in the first day which is 15 miles more than forecast so heads up and the other down.
