 Mojo to Fiji Plotting around the reefs   Blog 9

 

As we close in on our target we have various waypoints, some from our weather router and some self inflicted to weave our way around the plentiful reefs both showing and just below the surface, a number of vessels have grounded here, however we intend not to be one. So we check and check and check again our line of travel, our track, some of the reefs dont show on the chart and electronically are only seen on full zoom in, so it is a time consuming task but well worth it.

 

We are approaching one of our final turns and are now wondering what game the wind will play on its final hand, we intend to turn in daylight and also have the task of initiating the time and date offset, we are going to do this well before Fiji  so that it is firmly in our head.

 

In the meantime its motor on, with wind at 5.3 knots sails are starting to flap telling the crew that a flappy sail is not a happy sail, so we wind them away with just main sail with 3 reefs in to balance the boat, bonus the crew sleep easy as it looks set for the night.
