The day started well with a magical sunrise and cotton wool clouds all over, the last day before anchor and check in to Tahiti, what restrictions will we find, I intend calling Peter tonight on Ta as he sent over a new local number.

It will probably be a late arrival in the dark so Mojo will go to anchor just a short hop from the pass into the island, rest up and prepare the boat for a stern tie up with anchor out front, not an easy manoeuvre for the solo sailor, but practiced in the past, for that we have to wait till daylight on Tuesday morning.

I will also have Peter onshore shouting commands in an Australian lingo which will probably be don’t trash the tinnies mate…….
Now where did I put all the fenders warps and such to tie this boat up.

What happens from here will be interesting as there is talk that some of the restrictions will be lifted on 14th or 15th April 2020, who knows.
This afternoon the sea state was smooth smooth smooth, so smooth no sails could be used with the wind below 6 knots its not efficient and spends a lot of time clanging and banging as the cloth tries to fill, so best to set the engine as efficient as possible which all good marine engineers know to be 1800 revs I personally think they make it up as different engines must have differing optimums, but hey ho me sailor first.

With smooth sea state goes nice temperature and I notice the thermometer is shouting 35 degrees centigrade that’s hot whatever the language, as much shade up as possible and your head in the fridge every hour is the only way to deal with it. Sun down at 17:45 or thereabouts.
G and T without the G and no crisps peanuts or olives, the store is empty until landfall.

Well getting rid of you early tonight as there’s a big block of land arriving through the night and its my job to get around the north tip and to safety.
