It was time to leave Curacao, a nice plce but by no means a favorite. We had been advised the easiest route east to Puerto De La Cruz was to head south to the Venezuelan coast, rather than struggle against strong winds and current to Bonaire and the offshore islands, so that was the plan. We want to see the offshore isles but we can wait til we are heading west with wind and wave behind us.

We had some calm seas and wind but still managed to sail part of the way. Our first stop was Cabo San Juan about 60 miles south southeast. We spent the night here in a reasonably comfortable anchorage. Waylander was with us, so too was another boat Hoofbeats, we met them in Jamaica and they wanted company to Venezuela. They will be accompanying us during the trip to Venezuela.
