The weather was good so we upped anchor and left Bequia for Mayreau, before we left Yvonne bought me a birthday present, spicy hot pepper sauce, (a local brew), the box you can see in the picture, good stuff as long as you don't get it on the varnish.

Mayreau is only 25 miles from Bequia, we had a really good comfortable sail, and arrived in positions 12.38.88N 61.23.47W Saltwhistle Bay Mayreau at approx. 14.00hrs.

We took a swim and snorkel to check the anchor is set correctly, we don't want to drag here. The photos show the beach in front of us, we are on the leeward side, but as you can see, we can go ashore and walk across the beach to the windward side of the Island, about 30 yards.

The bay isn't quite as good as it appears, or should I say the bay is beautiful as you can see, what you can't see is the other twenty boats around us, but, this is a tourist area, so all the charter boats come here for it's beauty, only three of the boats here are liveaboards.

A boat that anchored near us in Bequia has just anchored again in front of us, we call him the drag artist because everytime he anchors, it drags and he falls back on us or some other poor sod. Now he's right in front of us again, but fortunately there is little wind, at the moment!

Tomorrow, we'll go ashore and explore the little village and maybe visit Dennis's Hideaway, a bar restaurant we visited 16 years ago. At that time it was the only bar, it was the only anything apart from a few fisherman houses. We'll see tomorrow how things have changed.
