Title: arrived

Fantastic, arrived to a fanfare of horns and hooters from the ARC organisers and friends that had arrived earlier. Not many of  our friends had arrived before us, I have to say boastfully, but it was truly another emotional episode of our cruise. By the time we got into the marina it was gone midnight, nevertheless, the ARC office and the staff of Rodney Bay Marina brought us a basket of fruit, a bottle of local rum and a couple of local soft drinks. they also brought us two large cold glasses of rum punch. That went down very well. We were put on a berth but after tonight we'll move, we don't have enough water under us. Our position now is 14.04.56N 60.56.94W we're here to stay a while.

Rodney Bay is a beautiful area and marina, we were here 16 years ago, Jon and Kate lived and worked here for some years and Yvonne and myself, James Robert and Susie came here for a months holiday. We had a great time then, an experience that changed our lives, and  not because of the weather, it was because of the people we met, their laid back life style, they were enjoying life, we were too, but our enjoyment involved sitting in the Blackwall Tunnel 2 hours a day and working 7 days a week albeit for British Telecom, seeing little of the kids. That's when we decided to do something different and as a result we moved to Spain to have a more relaxed life ha-ha!

So finally we have now adopted a new cruising lifestyle, this past couple of months has been good, and an adventure, a one off in its own right, but really our adventure starts from here. We'll stay here for a month or two before moving off down south to visit other islands.

In the meantime now, we are sitting in the cockpit of our boat with a rum punch listening to the VHF waiting to hear of any of our friends arrival.  A few have arrived today but some are not due until Monday, sail boats are arriving all the time and I believe there are now only about 50 still to come.
