Finally we say goodbye to our friends Chris and Tony aboard their 43ft
Hallberg Rassey 'Waylander'. We've been bumping into each other since
we first met in Las Palmas prior to crossing the Atlantic. When we left Grenada
we arranged to meet in Trinidad. That was back in July and since then we've been
travelling together and have become good friends. Yvonne and I have had a great
time being with them, we've done things we probably wouldn't have done without
them being around and I believe they probably feel the same. Our last night in
Puerto De La Cruz we went ten pin bowling, as everyone knows now 'Waylander'
on their travels are normally in front of us, and this time the bowling was
no exception, Tony came first! B******d! but 'Chaser ll' still put up a
good show, coming -- second! Actually we had a good night for about 35 pounds
which included our shoe hire, two and a half hours of play our 4 meals and
about 20 beers between us. Not bad aye?
We left Puerto de la Cruz yesterday for a day sail
to Isla Margarita, and arrived at the anchorage around 1600hrs. Chris and tony
came over to 'Chaser ll' for a goodbye sundowner and meal, before
retiring to bed for an early start north.
The photo, taken this morning at about 0630hrs of
them waving goodbye, we will miss them. The good news is we've arranged to meet
them in Dominican Republic some time in the new year,
February.Waylander will make their way west from Antigua, and we intend
to cross the Caribbean sea from Venezuela somewhere to Santa Domingo
Dominican Republic. So we both look forward to that I'm sure.
Bien Viaje 'Waylander' Feliz
Navidad y Año nuevo. Hasta la proxima!
