This is our last day in Rubicon, yesterday we stowed our dingy and tidied up the boat. Last night Jon and Kate (Yvonnes brother and his wife) came to the boat to graze and have a  couple of lemonades with their daughter Sophie. So we've swapped a few books and DVDs and we'll say goodbye this evening. We'll meet up next with them in St Lucia, just after Christmas. Sophie is happy now her friends have arrived, they'll be leaving for ST Lucia too, but after her, then  everyone will meet over the new year. The photos are of the five of us.

We looking forward to seeing Gran Canaria, like any new port it is different and a new experience, but we will miss Rubicon. Its a spacious marina, lots of facilities including a nice pool, Laura and  the rest of the office staff are very helpfull and polite as too are the marineros. We would recommend anyone passing to stay a while.

Tried to buy a camera today, a good camera, they said the price was 125 euros (a bargain) so I decided to have it. I wanted to see the box, it was sealed but one of the other lads came over to talk to us, asking silly questions while the other took the box away. Yvonne followed him to make sure he didn't take anything out or swap it for something else. Then they said the battery charger is missing, you must come back later and collect it. These people must think we were born yesterday. They had no intention of selling it for that price, but they intended to rip us off, so be careful buying from these shops in the duty free towns. They're not all the same but if the price appears too cheap keep your eyes open and make sure you get what you think you're paying for. We bought Sophies birthday present its a xxxxxxxxx  can't say what in case she reads this, she's 14 in a couple of weeks, time flies, we remember when she arrived on their boat Aries in Moraira after coming from St Lucia via the Azores and she was only about 18 months.

Time now to shower and fill our water tanks before moving out to the fuel dock, hasta pronto.
