Just after midnight we were able to set the sails until our arrival in the late morning to Santa Maria di Leuca. While sailing Chri discovered that Avventura has been surrounded with illuminiscent plankton, seen mainly on the waves. How beautiful nature is! Before entering the harbour of Santa Maria di Leuca we anchored at a bay nearby. Cori and Chri prepeared an epic breakfast with crispy toast, guacamole and poached eggs. What a treat! After having a swim there had been already some dark clouds on the sky, ended up in a flash and thunder. Suddenly after this it was raining. We decided to leave the bay since it had a rocky ground and didn't feel safe for a storm. Entering the harbor of Santa Maria di Leuca we have been answered that they are currently on standby, not coming to help for docking, so we had to stay outside and let the storm go over. Marco once only saw a wind speed of 45 kn after that there was no sign anymore from our wind detector on the masttop. After the storm has passed over he saw, that the wind detection device we installed some days ago in Sardegna was destroyed by the storm. So we knew what to do the next day... After the arrival we managed to dry our soaked wet cloths. Fede then discovered that her window was not properly closed, so she had not only soaked wet cloths but also a wet bed. We put everything outside to dry. For dinner we went out to a restaurant in town. ps. no fish today.
