During the night shift, besides counting shooting stars, we heard some interesting sounds on the radio. For example someone singing and being asked to leave the channel several times. Meanwhile Fede was fighting the tiredness, falling asleep with the eyes open, seeing a cow in front of the boat in the position of a lion. Chri and Cori made sure that there was no beast on deck, so we all think it's just her bright imagination. In the early morning there was land in sight. But it still took us some hours to finally arrive at a bay near Porticello to take a bath and a gelato brought by a boat (Gelato and Spritz Taxi). We prepared already for the strait of Messina by reading some pages in a nicely drawn book. Fede was reading and translating it to Chri, since her Italian is improving but not enough to understand what's written in the navigation guide. Corinne prepared a salad for lunch, which we ate with pan guttiau (Sardinian specialty). There was a first downer of this (maybe) final leg: one peperoni decided to rotten unnoticed at the bottom of the veggie storage (at least we finally discovered where the awful smell came from). So we did some cleaning and re-arranging the fridge and all of our food. After the much needed jump into the water we went getting fuel before heading to our anchor spot for the night at Volcano island. For dinner Fede and Cori prepared Culurgiones. While enjoying the sunset we have been talking about different tasks to be done, one is setting the guest flags. Chri was promoted to CFO, our Chief Flag Officer and was asked to prepare something the next day. Ps. there was no fish caught that day.
