Day 9 - Arrival to Palma de Mallorca
The upcoming days we expect very strong winds, announced by a very deep low over Palma de Mallorca, which means we will head to the final port today and stay there for the remaining couple of days until Marco will continue with a different crew after easter.
We left Cala Santa Ponsa right after breakfast to profit from the wind conditions around the cape. After a couple of upwind sailing with up to 20 knots we reached the Port of Club Nautico El Arenal. Approaching the port we could already see the 49er training for the regatta that is coming up over easter.
The air pressure fell impressively the last 24 hours. It went from 1016hPa to 995hPA. Considering it’s still winter season for sailing, we got lucky with the conditions. The weather windows we got for this transfer from La Linea to Mallorca made us use a lot of motoring hours, but at least we could continue this journey as expected in the time available and enjoy some sun and swims in the beautiful bays of the baleares. While being a bit sad about being in the port already instead of anchoring in another bay, we are looking at the bright side of it: Nice and long hot showers and plenty of tapaaaaas :D
Happy easter!
Over and out.
