Original plan was to leave here on Monday, but we have decided to stay until after Toby leaves for New Zealand on Friday.

All is good here;  we’ve done some jobs on the boat (re-plumbed the watermaker so it does not take serawater from the engine inlet, and made a bridle so the new dinghy can be hauled out of the water overnight), visited the beach a few times, and generally lounged around.

The engine was serviced last Friday;  the man who collects the mooring fees recommended ‘Mel’.  When he came it turned out he was a University professor, and he brought a couple of his students with him.  Very happy with this – it meant he showed the lads how to do it properly, and then checked to make sure;  only thing was he had brought no parts so we raided our spares for filters and impellor  (since replenished at Budget Marine) and we made a quick trip to shore to buy some fresh oil.

Boat has had two trips to Green Island (about 10 miles up the coast and a kitesurfing centre).  Last Saturday with us, Oli, Toby and Nadine, and then on Monday just Toby and two of his friends.

Nadine’s boat left for St Lucia yesterday, and on Sunday we also saw Jo leave for the same destination.

Current thinking is that we will leave on Saturday or Sunday, do the short hop to Guadaloupe, and then follow the islands down to St Lucia, spending a few days at each.
