Wind stronger than expected, and mainly forward of the beam – result bumpy
uncomfortable but fast ride. Except that behind the islands the wind died,
so we had to motor, but the upside of this was the water was smooth for
dinner. Arrived here in Antigua about 14.30 after a bit of a sleigh ride –
some squalls with winds up to 40 knots, and lots of rain.
Met in Nelson’s Dockyard, where we are now moored, by Oli and Stitch from
Rainbow. Also saw Doug, who had flown in yesterday.
Now in recovery mode – showering, emptying the bilges (again) and general
clearing up.
Plans from here are fluid – I’ve said we will stay for 5 days, but who
knows? |
