Have finally got internet connection, so updating the blog, which I’ll do location by location, just to keep the map honest.

Having finally sorted out the leak in the anchor locker, and with Nadine having arranged a flight out of the country so that we could take her off the crew list, last Monday we moved True Colours from English Harbour around to Falmouth, with Doug helping in case we experienced the same problems with anchor retrieval that we saw other boats have.  In the event we had no problems, apart from getting our anchor to hold at Pidgeon Beach so we picked up a mooring for the night.  Both Rainbow and Jo were in Falmouth, so we motored past  and spoke to the crew of both.

Left Falmouth at 07.40, downwind under genoa only doing 6.5 – 7.5 knots;  arrived Nevis 16.15 and picked up a mooring;  went ashore, pulling the tender up the beach for a meal and drinks at “Sunshines”.  A couple of his “World famous Killer Bee cocktails” and we returned to the boat, unconcerned about launching through the swell.

Wednesday 15th January.

Cleared in to Nevis then took a taxi tour of part of the island;  swam off the back of the boat and then dinner at Double Deuce, another beach bar.

Thursday 16th January.  Rented a car to explore the island more;  had lunch at the Golden Rock Estate.  Overall, we thought that Nevis was both beautiful and reasonably priced – we would certainly visit again.  Pictures below of Nevis.
