So we have awoken to a lovely sunny morning. The night was slow with only a
couple of vessels appearing over the horizon. The breeze is up and we are still
making good progress. Not sure if we will actually be able to get there on the
evening of the second now, but will certainly see. The plan is to throw in a
gybe in a few hours and then it should be straight into gran Canarias. 230nm
miles to go. There are going to be a number of factors affecting our entry into
las Palmas, for example whether they will be able to give us a tow at night, how
many staff etc. If we arrive in the dark we will probably spend some time
sailing around outside las Palmas so that we can enter in the morning. It will
all depend on variables. Hopefully we will be able to maintain the 6.5 knots
needed to get into las palmas in the light. We shall keep you
informed! |
