So what a perfect evening we have had. After a very enjoyable pasta bolognaise cooked by fiona we settled into the evening with 2 reefs and peaks of up to 24 knots of breeze. This allowed us to keep tramming along at 6-7 knots. As the evening set in there was a bit of confusion over a fishing vessel with a single flashing light, a tanker heading towards us, and a pilot on the radio giving his uttermost foul language to the “banana boat” that he was expecting to board and could not contact. All of this happened at once, hence the confusion.

As we got towards 1am the winds lightened to a nice 15 knots, and both the reefs were shaken out in an attempt to maintain boat speed and stability. No change since then, currently sitting at 6 knots, only a few degrees off course, with 632 miles to go!

The stars have been out like nothing else before, with the milky way being as bring as daylight! Keeping up with jobs overnight... just about to clean the bilge filter and then get some sleep.
