We finally left Angra do Heroisme, Terceira, the Azores, at 1600 UTC on 24th
June. All a little jaded from a week of the festival and catching up with
friends who sailed in soon after us.

Our pal Gerry, on "Per Mare", set off just 5 minutes before us, and "Aleria"
one day earlier, so the race is on .. Only there is no wind!! And we have
been motorsailing since the moment we cast off our lines 2 days ago.
Yesterday, however, was a blue, sunny and warm day, and we weren't
complaining about such a gentle start to our passage, as pods of dolphins
and a turtle swam alongside, and whales silhouetted an almost perfect
sunset.

So, very unusual for us mid Atlantic, we are enjoying relatively calm seas,
and a rhythmic Atlantic swell. Having 4 of us onboard (with Jon & Kate) is
a little bit of luxury we are not used to, making night watches 3 hours on,
9 off!!
