After a rough first 36 hours we are now getting more into the rhythm of the big rolling waves, the surfing, though the constant slamming and pounding every few seconds is tiresome, and vibrates loudly throughout Talulah, her hulls, and our bodies, making sleep difficult on off-watch hours.  After goosewinging on a deadrun the 2nd night, we have been on a broad reach since, averaging between 6-8 knots, with the occasional wave pushing us up briefly to 11 knots!  We’re heading further South than we planned, but with plenty of time to make up the Westing!

We are being disciplined about our 3 hour shifts.  Days give way to stunning sunsets, and the full moon lit up the crests of the breaking waves, accompanied by shooting stars, and followed by glorious sunrises.

Other than a container ship on the horizon on Day 2, not another ship in sight since then.

Humbled by the big ocean and ever-changing seas, we are so far enjoying it, though still too rough to put the lines out, so no fish as yet!
