Final "Talulah" blog from Sussex UK

The Talulah's Web Diary

We’ve been back in the UK for nearly a year now, and it still seems a bit unreal.  Our wonderful year off sailing the seven seas came and went so quickly that sometimes it feels like a dream, and sometimes those memories are so strong we can’t quite believe that we stopped the journey at all.  There are times when we’re so happy to be back on land and living the “settled” life here in the heart of rural Sussex:  open farmland, cows in the pasture, and the village pub a short walk away with a lovely community feel we learnt to appreciate so much while we were part of the “floating village” that was an integral part of our life on Talulah.  Of course there are also times when we can’t quite believe that we no longer have our beloved Talulah, but consol ourselves with the fact she’s moved on and is with a new owner who is going to love her as much as we did.  (We sold her in October 2010.) Of course this doesn’t stop us dreaming of the good life afloat and we spend hours on the internet salivating over other boats that we’d love to have to take us on our next voyage.

And so, our dear friends who followed our journey  so closely, thanks for all the support, and keep in touch, and we look forward to sharing our next adventure with you.

Lots of love from Shane and Ali x

“Pip” the rescue dog, our new best friend who has delayed the next trip for a while.

He’s a very handsome boy!
