We are here in Las Palmas, entered in the ARC crossing to St Lucia. Our crew member, Derek Margison, has joined us. He’s a tennis chum and has recently started as a part time, all services sail trainer in Gosport. At this moment he’s at an ARC seminar on sextant use. He’s keen to track our progress using the Atlantic crossing using the sextant.
Jonny, Maggy’s cousin, and retired Naval Captain joined us from Plymouth to here. It was a tough trip and Jonny made the trip much easier.
The ‘race’ starts on Sunday. Last food shop today.
