11th August

Anchored in sand just off the Beach in Poette, near Marina Piccola.
Very small and shallow Marina, but they do have fuel here which we can get in cans as the Fuelling Berth does not look as it would be able to take our weight,Rafikis not ours!
.
Samantha and Rowena arriving tomorrow so will go ashore and do a "reckie", and need to find a chandlery for a new starter battery for the Port side engine.
Mark took fuel cans to be refilled whilst I walked into town, boy was it quite a walk, slightly longer than the Pilot book suggests!!!Walked about 13miles ,(there and back) to an area that the Marina had suggested where we could pick up a battery, unfortunately wasted trip as shop no longer exists, will try again tomorrow with girls!

Awoke to find Dolphins in the bay, and the Girls swam off to see if they could join them in their swim around the bay, to their delight the Dolphins actually circled them and they were practically able to touch them, really was a great start to the morning and their holiday with us.
The local fishing boats shepherded the Dolphins safely out of the bay, but only when the Dolphins were ready to leave.

Took local bus into town to continue search for battery, found Chandlery along the bus route not too far from one of the marinas and was able to purchase one there, the lady in the shop got her daughter to give us a lift back to the Marina. The local people are certainly very helpful and so friendly despite language difficulty.
