Boxing Day the boyfriends arrived and it was more eating and drinking. We found a really good jazz bar in the north quarter of the city. This part of town is known as La Norte and it is renowned for its bars with ensconced musicians.
Took a tour the next day to Radizul to check the marina there but unfortunately it is too small! So will need to think of where to sail to next, probably Los Christianos and then over to the island La Gomera.
New Years was a blast. We had a chicken supper on the boat and invited our Danish Neighbours over for a drink. They are a training boat and spend approx 6 months away from home. The erected stage next door was pumping out Latino music and we all decided to see what was happening on stage. The enclosed arena was jam packed. We on the other hand had loads of room as the area behind our boat was being used by the Red Cross in readiness for any injuries that might occur. In true Canarian or Spanish style on the chiming of the bells marking the New Year we all devoured 12 grapes. We took a bowl of grapes over to the Red Cross Workers so that they could also participate and then we all joined in the dancing until the wee small hours. It was a shame that everyone had an early morning flight back to the UK .I am staying with the boat whilst Mark goes to the UK to sort some things out.My time will be spent cleaning the boat and getting it ship shape again.
