Patras is the 3rd largest city in Greece and is useful for getting things for the boat and shopping generally To get there we had to cross the Gulf of Patras, which seperates the North from the south of the Ionian, using the newly constructed suspension bridge.

No we did not attempt these steps, perhaps another day!!!!

Patras is very large and it is quite a surprise how one becomes accustomed to small villages as we were all overwhelmed by the size of Patras. We decided to look around Patras in couples and rendevous later for a drink before driving back to Messolonghi.
The drive back to Messolonghi was uneventful and we stopped off in a place called Nafpaxos which was the site of a famous Greek naval battle.
