Petriti good anchorage except for the "flotillas"
who expect to find room on the quay and barge their way in expecting everyone
else to move and make room for them!!!
We topped up with water at the quayside but decided
to continue being out at anchor as there was less hassle and we did not get
involved with all the chaos that the "flotillas"caused.Met another English
couple who we went ashore with and had a tasty fish supper with at one of the
seafront Tavernas.
25th May
9.30 am saw us lifting the anchor to head up
to Corfu Town.No wind to speak of so mainly motorsailed into the bay of Ormus
Garitsu just south of Corfu Town arriving at around 12.30 midday.We were able to
anchor in sand in fairly clear water and it really was a bonus to be able to see
the anchor dug quite snuggly in the sandy bottom.Again not a bad anchorage and
very close to the town centre.Mark took me across to the shore with my bike so
that I could do the usual "recce".Our friend Gill,who used to live in Corfu some
20years ago told us that we must look up a Pizza place she used to frequent
where they do good pizza,all we had was the name "Mr pizza man"! Could not
believe it after cycling through the town to the opposite side of the harbour
actually found "Mr Pizza man" by accident whilst I was waiting for Mark to pick
me up from the promenade.We had actually moored more or less opposite to the
place and hadn't noticed it as it was hidden by some trees.Bought a takeaway
pizza and the owner actually remembered Gill!!
