Arrived late afternoon very tired but glad to have
our feet on dry land! Santa Cruz is a large commercial port busy with passenger
liners and various island ferries.There are 3 Marinas and we have decided to
stay in Marina Atlantico which is very central for the town and hopefully
chandlery facilities.We were able to berth alongside a pontoon at the northern
part of the marina with easy access to the town centre which is a stones
throw away.Next to our pontoon the locals were building a kind of stage with
huge sound systems and lighting and it seems that this is the area where the
major festivities take place for celebrating the New Year and the 6th January.So
we really have got a great spot to berth Rafiki and are looking forward to the
celebrations.Decided to have a quick shower and then ring the girls to let them
know of our safe arrival.The girls have been really spoilt by the relatives and
were out Xmas shopping.As we are quite tired we thought that it would be a good
idea for them to come down to the boat tomorrow when we are all
refreshed.Nice to get to bed without the noise from the
engines!
