Went ashore in search of internet
cafe,unfortunately none functioning!Took cable car up the mountain to the
ancient village of Erice, beautiful coastal views from the top.Lovely
picturesque Aragonese village where the locals were again extremely
friendly and we visited lots of local craft shops where we were able to taste
various delicacies and try out the local spirts!!
After exploring the village with its cobbled
streets and numerous castles we decided to get the cable car back to the
boat.
Erice apparently in Greek times was known to
Mariners for its Temple of Aphrodite and her sacred courtesans so it would seem
appropriate for sailors today to make this Pilgrimage!
