The sail over to the Balearics started off well with light wnds and slight sea state, after a couple of hours however this changed to grey skies and sudden squalls.Lightening was experienced overhead and the fine drizzle throughout the night was not pleasant. We had a steady 2 kt current against us and managed to clock up for a 109 nm trip 150nm!!
After 21 hrs of mainly motor sailing we decided to duck into Formentera instead of Espalmador, as originally planned,as storms were forecast over Menorca, arrived in Cala Sabina where we able to pick up a mooring bouy, the first time we have had to do this,so this was quite an experience and after 2 attempts were able to tie up using 2 warps.
The bay looks quite pretty despite the grey skies and the water is crystal clear. This area is known as 'poor mans Carribean'.
More wet weather with winds up to 30knt shas been forecast so we will need to be attentive this evening but the weekend looks promising! Lets hope so.
