Padstow and a day of celebration.
Scrambled egg with chorizo for breakfast.
Cornish pasty on the harbour side for lunch.
Fish and chips on the harbourside for supper.
A pint of St Austell beer on the harbour side on either side of fish and chips.
Chronic acid indigestion.
Relief came (up) at 0200.

Also here is David from Cardiff on Dizzy. David is the brother of good friend Julia, now back on Aremiti with Chris in Scotland for the summer. Padstow was the first port of call for Chris and Julia on the return from their own circumnavigation a few years ago and our last before leaving the UK so it is quite a poignant moment for all of us.

Unfortunately it is also a sad moment because two days ago a five year old boy fell from the harbour wall onto David’s boat, causing a bad head injury that proved to be fatal. David wasn’t on board at the time but understandably it has proved a great upset and he is returning to Cardiff this morning. It is such an awful thing to happen and the anguish now for the little boy’s parents must be unbearable. A very salutary reminder that whilst life can seem so wonderful and enjoyable that mustn’t be taken for granted -  in a flash that can all change.

It is Annie’s and my wedding anniversary today and we will celebrate courtesy of Rick Stein in his cafe this evening. 19 wonderful years and we just hope for many more to come.
