Last night the wind died and we motored.
The usual nightly thunderstorms that seem to peak after midnight and dissipate at dawn. We can pick them up on radar but there seems to be no avoiding them - they bubble up and down all around you.
We’ve had a reasonable steady breeze today and apart from one small diversion to avoid what looked like a line squall have made steady progress. We should be passing through the Andaman Islands tomorrow.
The wind is dying now as the sun sets so it looks like another night of motoring and no doubt thunderstorms. Typical Malacca Straights weather apparently!
