Yesterday was windier than expected which made leaving Bazaruto bumpy and uncomfortable as we left on an ebb tide but into a stiff breeze.
However things settled down in the evening and we made good speed overnight in bright moonlight and cloudless sky.
Today started cloudy and the wind dropped to the point at which we needed to motorsail in order to keep our average speed up. We were scheduled to arrive early on Monday morning ahead of a strong southerly wind coming in on Tuesday. The skies have now cleared, it is hot and sunny but the forecast north east wind has failed to come at the strength predicted. We are running downwind with poled out genoa and making just over four knots. Our ETA is now midday Monday and we really need to get in before dark! Beautiful sailing but so hoping the wind picks up a bit!!
