I forgot to mention in the last post about the wildlife seen since the bay of Biscay. Seagulls (lots) and that is about it.
However, yesterday south of Finisterre we saw a Sunfish. We have seen the odd one in UK waters but all you ever really see is the long dark brown dorsal fin sticking out of the water and flopping from side to side. This time we were given a much better view because the fish was on its side at the surface, all fins flapping. Maybe they do swim on their side but somehow this didn’t look right and we suspect that he or she was not a happy chappy.
This morning a tern flew past the boat. White with a black cap to the head but without any means of identification on board I can tell you no more.
Oh yes, and the marinas are all teeming with Grey Mullet.
