Motorsailing against north current. With this current we can’t sail north enough to pick up more favourable current in a couple of hours and so are having to use the engine. Hopefully with better current we can hold the correct course without motoring. In fact we have been motoring since 0300 when the wind died completely and it is only since late afternoon it has returned.
Highlight of the day was catching a skipjack tuna. We tried the proprietary spike for dispatching the creature (through the brain) and it worked instantly to our great relief. We had some for supper and will be eating it for the next three or four days.
Low point of the day was a little earlier when a beautiful Mahi Mahi fell back into the sea after a shackle on the line parted just as we were hoisting the fish on board.
