We ventured out around 15:30 to go to The Baths after all the tourists had
gone. The wind was still hitting 20-25kts so the RIB ride was bumpy, but it’s
always 20-25kts from the east, every bloody day and guess what it is tomorrow
and for the next bloody week!! Really looking forward to getting beaten up for
another 24 hours and a night at sea heading for Antigua. I’ve given up looking
at the weather – there’s no point – it’s always the same. Sorry but after 3,000M
down the east coast up wind and against current we and the boat just want a nice
sail and without the stay sail we won’t be able to point at 35 degrees to the
wind, so really want a nice reach all the way down.
Anyway The Baths are very nice, we spent some time swimming, walking and
climbing and spoke with an Australian couple on a Amel Super Maramu. They had
just crossed from Cape Verde to St Martin and sailed straight up to the BVIs
after going back to their ski chalet in Portes de Soleil. Hmm.. I do miss skiing
and this season is now 3 years since we last skied.
