Well we made the corner at about 0200 on 27 Jan local time on Suzanne's watch, we were able to free the boat up 25 degrees on the wind and now have a more comfortable ride. The girls have been laid a bit low by the upwind sailing, so I have had to do my own catering, which mainly involves opening a tin of something with a sachet of rice.

But as we have now rounded Recife the current will take us north and we will have 1kt with us rather than 1.5kt against us and the girls should perk up a bit - don't you just love perky girls!

We will be in the anchorage by lunchtime and have most of the day available to have a look around and catch up with the rest of the group.

In the end it was a total of 520M which we did in 69 hours, just less than 3 days - which was very good as most other boats had 4 nights at sea, some only making 58M on day one - "Day one was a waste of time" said Phil on Minnie B. We all had to motor a bit - as the port tack was straight back to Africa, getting swept back south on the 1.5kt current - a frustrating option as we wanted to make up time to catch up and get back on the Rallye schedule.
