Made our escape at 10.00 got our out of jail card after 3 attempts to get off the pontoon as every time we tried the windy just blew up… the day was sunny but that bloody wind was still with us and what a swell !!!!!   It’s a good job I had bolted everything down as we were tipped up a bit.  Suzie Too settled into a rhythm easily

3.5 hours later sailed or rather surfed into Fowey, Cornwall, ended up right up the river to get out of the wind on a swinging mooring.  Did a deal with the Harbour master and paid £42.00 for 3 nights, not bad.  Ate our dinner on deck as the wind had finally dropped for once and was quite pleasant we sat planning what to do in Fowey.

Slept really well as no wind overnight just rocked me to sleep.  Next day ribbed into town, quaint cobbled street with butchers, bakers, chandlery etc, did the tourist thing and walked through at a leisurely pace, then went on our planned walk to St Catherine’s point and to Gribben about 4.5 miles each way.  It was a bit hilly so had a few strategic stops on route, had a picnic on the beach out of the wind, and watched a few sailing yachts try to sail past to Falmouth but the wind as always on the nose.

Had the compulsory afternoon tea sat in the quaint cobbled garden which was protected from the wind.  We had homemade scones with blackcurrant jam and clotted cream Yum, Yum!!!!!

No signal for the TV so watched an episode of Brothers  & Sisters, we are getting into this, worth watching.

Love to all
