One almost final thing on my list was to go to the Aircraft Carrier US
Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum which is moored in the Hudson on Manhattan
just above 42nd St, so into the city on the Liberty Ferry, a short walk past
Ground Zero and into the subway at Church Street Station, so cool when you have
done it before.
Even Suzanne enjoyed the day, although in the heat it was pretty
exhausting, but after a couple of days recovering form the work at Derektors
yard, where I did changed the engine & generator oil, changed the davit
cables (for the new Tender) and replaced the safety switch, it was time to get
off the boat again.
We piloted a dog fight in a simulator and I shot a plane down, but
unfortunately it was one of ours – Oopps it’s usually Americans that fire Blue
on Blue, they even had a Concorde on display from British Airways, so much here
to see and do – Oopps sounds like we are enjoying New York
