window allowed us to motor/ sail down the coast for 3 days and 3 nights.
At each changing tide, wind either picked up (20 kn) or died. Around each
cap, the swell (10’- 18’) was deflected by the coast and building up to
breaking and after a few miles calming down. The full moon and the games on the
I-Pad made the nights more pleasant. But what a drastic change from the North!
beautiful wooded hills falling in to calm bays and rivers, we are going to enjoy
it after this painful route South. We are close to the “roaring forties” that
have been purring for us so far ( knock on wood ).
Une bonne couverture meteo nous a permit de
naviguer voile et moteur le long de la cote pendant 3 jours et 3 nuits. A chaque
changement de maree, le vent ou bien forcissait ( 20 nd) ou tombait. A chaque
cap, la houle ( 3m-5m) se deflectait ,montait deferlait et apres plusieurs miles
se recalmait. La pleine lune et les jeux sur le Ipad ont fait que les nuits
etaient plaisantes. Mais quel changement par rapport au Nord, collines boisees
descendant vers des baies aux eaux calmes ou des rivieres. Nous allons
apprecier ceci apres cette longue, eprouvante descente Sud. Nous sommes pres des
quarantiemes rugissant ( latitude) qui ont ronronne pour nous, pour l’instant (
touchons du bois).
 Yes, we do sail, sometimes... Oui, nous faisons de
la voile de temps en temps...
 Early catch, the only one so far in Chile, we
either use the cedar plug (+)or the rapalla (-) . Prise du matin , le seul
depuis que nous sommes au Chili.
 I-Pad with the B&G wifi allows us to check the
navigation thru out the boat without being behind the wheel. It is
charging as we are using it all night long. 300W inverter from a 12v cockpit

Le I-Pad connecte avec le wifi des instruments
B&G nous permet de verifier la navigation sans etre derriere la barre a
roue. Il est en train de se recharger car on l’utilise toute la nuit. 300w
convertisseur a partir d’une source 12v.
 One o'clock in the morning , getting dressed up for
the party... 3 hours watch, 45F outside. Une heure du matin, se preparant pour
la fete... quart de trois heures et 7C dehors.
