Boat is well prepared thank to a full year of hard
work but I came to realize that it lacks the proper fishing gears as it is the
main activity during the day. I should have consulted with the pro anglers at
Beneteau,but we were running out of time.What a mistake!
Here is some math. Bahamas fishing license $150 (a
year), Spear sling $60, misc lures $40 . total $250. Upon Warren H
recommendation I finally got my hand on a cedar plug for another $16 in
Clarence town and a 6/0 hook ( not the 10/0 as it should have been). Bottom line
, we caught trolling 3 fish :2 barracudas 2’( eaten) and 4’ that broke the
line and a Jack . We lost half the lures and the Cedar plug perform beautifully
with 30’ but my swivel broke....So we have basically 3 pounds of fresh fish but
a priceless heck of a time.!. On a little sad note, thirty years ago, while
diving the same waters, on any small coral head , we were able to find the
lunch or the dinner, either spiny lobsters, Nassau groupers or red snappers, not
anymore. Local fishermen are complaining on over fishing...
Le bateau est bien prepare, merci pour une annee
entiere de dur travail mais je viens de realiser qu’il manque le bon
materiel de peche qui est l’activite principale de la journee. J’aurai du
consulter avec les pros a Beneteau mais n’en n’ai pas eu le temps. Quelle
erreur! Voici un peu de math. La licence pour pecher aux Bahamas, $150.00 (
annuel), mon arbalete de peche, $60.00, les differents leures, $40.00 soit un
total de $250.00. Sous la recommandation de Warren H, j’ai pu acheter un leure
Cedar plug pour $16.00 a Clarence town et un hamecon consequent. Au
final, nous avons attrappe 3 poissons, 2 barracudas 60cm (avons mange), et un de
1.20m qui a casse la ligne et un Jack.Nous avons perdu la moitie de nos leures
et le Cedar plug a marche au bout de 30’ et mon emerillon a casse.Au total nous
avons peche 1.5kg de poisson frais mais le bon temps passe n’a pas de
prix. Sur une note plus sobre, quand nous plongions dans les meme eaux, il y a
30 ans, nous etions capables de trouver pour les repas de midi ou du
soir sur n’importe quelles tetes de corail, soit des spiny langoustes. des
merous ou des snappers, plus maintenant. Les pecheurs locaux se plaignent de la
“sur peche” ....
