Position:N26:32.847,W77:03.436. Leaving Charleston
Saturday morning and arriving on Tuesday morning. Three days 4hrs for 434nm. we are safely anchored in Marsh
Harbour, Wind ranged from nothing (10 hrs) to 25 kn seas 3 to 5’ and a moderate
swell.Crossing the gulf stream and the shipping lane at night was
interesting. Thank to the AIS, we knew the position of the tankers, cargos and
fishing vessel accurately. We switched from a 2 hours watch to three with
a net result of 5 hours sleep per night. Not too bad. The boat shake down
went well ,all system are working ,we just have to manage two amps guzzlers, the
fridge and the autopilot .Early Tuesday as we entered the reef at Man O War
pass, the water color changed from a deep blue to all pale aquamarine, stunning
! Only fish we caught and release was a suicidal flying fish... Yellow flag to
clear custom and immigration, 4hours later and $300 lighter we were clear for 60
days. We are anchored just in front of the ferry station where these little
commuters go to the little islands around. Weather is not looking promising for
the next 3 days so we will riding our bikes to visit the island.
    
 Trois jours 4h pour 434 nautical miles et nous
sommes ancres a Marsh Harbor. Le vent a ete entre 0 pendant 10h et de 25
noeuds(force 5) et une houle moderee. Traverser le Gulf Stream et les
differentes lignes des cargos pendant la nuit etaient interessantes. Merci au
systeme AIS (auto identification systeme) qui permet de donner la position des
tankers, cargos et chalutiers, leurs noms et leur direction. Nous avons change
de 2h de veille a 3h chacun, en fait une nuit de 5h de sommeil au total. Pas
trop mal. Nous sommes tres contents du bateau, il avance bien, tous les
systemes marchent, nous n’avons qu’a manager 2 mangeurs d’amperes, le
frigidaire freezer, et l’autopilote. Mardi matin, a 9h30 au moment ou on entrait
dans la barriere de corail a Man O War , la couleur de l’eau changeait du bleu
sombre a differentes palettes de bleu pale crystalline, magnifique!
Le seul poisson qu’on a attrape et relache etait un
poisson volant suicidaire.....Le drapeau jaune est mis pour la clearance des
douanes et immigration, 4h apres et $300.00 plus legers, nous avons un
visa pour 60 jours. Nous sommes ancres juste devant une station de ferrys ou ces
bateaux commutent vers les petites iles autour. Le temps n’est pas prometteur
pour les 3 prochains jours aussi nous profiterons de visiter l’ile avec
nos velos.
