Today is my last day of solitude. Seaman Cannon should be boarding a plane shortly to come to Apia for the sail to Fiji and beyond. I am very excited as I haven't seen any of the kids for such a long time. In a couple of weeks Lucy will also be joining us to explore some of the islands around Fiji so all is good. Ella is of course living la Vida Loca in Mexico so she wont be joining us which is a shame as she always adds another dimension but I'm still very excited to be joined by Jack and Lucy and to be drawing ever closer to OZ.
The boat is currently a disaster zone as the refrigerator is being repaired and that is nothing like repairing a normal fridge. The entire galley has to be pulled apart to get access to the workings so I'm sitting here surrounded by cutlery drawers and culinary devices. Hopefully the repairs will be finished tonight and I can put it all back together before Jack gets here early tomorrow. I have a feeling he'll be tired as the flight is all night after several hours waiting in Sydney.
I had dinner last night with my Samoan guide which was great but way too much food and I had to apologise profusely for my inability to make the distance. He has also taken me to the office of the Prime Minister to obtain permission to visit the island of Savaii on our way to Fiji. Apparently it is well worth the visit but special permission has to be obtained. They wont grant it however until they also meet Jack. Apparently they insist on personal meetings to ensure we are of good character. Mmmmmmm hope we can bluff our way through that.
I've attached some random photos one is my farewell from Suwarro by John, the assistant caretaker of the island. Another is making landfall in Samoa and there are some shots of the incredible foliage here.
