Its getting late and its been a big day. The shopping has ended and the boat is packed. Final margaritas have been consumed and almost eveything is right I hope. The goodbyes have been moving, everybody is so damn nice here and its bloody hard to leave. The main man of the dock businesses, the chinaman, came by and the goodbyes were quite emotional. At least three hand shakes and a hug. Then there was the cast of characters like Mike, Annette Mariana and all the others who have been forthright in their demands for me to stay, just one more week! Trouble is that is what was said two weeks ago and sailing is what I want to do.
My plan, at the moment is to head for Samoa. I am of course willing to deviate should Farr Gone get thirsty for deisel or I run out of toilet paper but to get one big leg done would make me feel good and would break the back of the trip. After Samoa its basically island hopping back to Oz. Singlehanding removes alot of the desire to stop as the sailing is the thing. Naturally I would stop for reasons of commonsense but being a tourist holds little attraction for me on my own.
I look forward to having crew, family or friends on some inter island hops around Tonga etc and I hope to coincide that with holidays. Fingers crossed as I really do miss those darn kids.
Farr Gone has to report to the Port Captain in Puerto Vallarto tomorrow with a full crew list. That shouldn't take too long to type. Unfortunately the process could take most of the day. I would like to leave here with at least three to four hours of daylight so I'll have to run as PV is an hour by yacht and the process can take hours. Fingers crossed.
