Ua Pou is a dramatic island with volcanic plugs reaching like spires thousands of feet in the air and the delightful but very small harbour is so much more sheltered than the last anchorage which was so rolly as to make sleeping and eating difficult.
Our plan is to stock up on water and make good our exit to go to Rangiroa. I am keen to visit the Tuomoto archipelago as it is the traditional palm fringed tropical atoll way off the beaten path. It will be a rest stop before the final push to Tahiti where a few repairs can be made and a new computer sourced. The idea of Papeete doesnt appeal as it is apparently a bustling large city but the advantage is that most items are available there so that the boat can be made good for the push to Tonga and Fiji. With luck we will be on out way if a few hours as it seems the weather will be heading to the north which will make this anchorage unpleasant and difficult to leave.
