                | Since the change of course the wind built steadily
until it got to 25 plus. The boat has been flying. From 2.00am utc for 6 hours
Farr Gone has sat pn 9lts plus. Have now quietened down to a pusitively peaceful
6 and a half. Once this boat hits ten knots, everything becomes a little more
exciting. Theres more noise, more spray and more violent actions. Nothing broke
but you worry. Wouldn't want much to break at this point, there seems to be a
lack of marine stores here. 10 degrees north is only a short dustance away and
that can mark the start of the ITCZ or doldrums, the next great challenge, The
trick is to get through with enough fuel to charge batteries for the rest of the
sail. The fall back position is to stop at Marquesas for fuel if needed. Que
Sera. On the other side of the coin, a short becalming would be useful for
cleaning up and catching up on some sleep. |
