Just bloody wow.
Sailed a big reach slightly on the beam for four days to be literally swept through a pass in the atoll swinging around in strong turbulence to this colour of water unlike anything I have seen. Think major photo shoot for Pirelli and the cameraman can leave the filters behind.
So the awning is up, a crewman sent for beer and life begins anew. And all I have to do is look to my right and look at it. This could take a day or two to get over the last four. No I'm really really tired. Could take longer.
The sail, for sailings sake was also great. All at the speed you wanted. We all felt the need for speed for around twenty four hours and then the reality of long distance sailing kicked in and fatigue just gets you. We grew up after some of the type of sailing I bought the boat for. Wish I'd got that 1.5 oz spinnaker and there could have been madness.
Daz, the swimmer (Kiwi but I forgive him) is underneath the boat scrubbing away. He's down the bottom of the 7'6" keel scraping and cleaning. Not bad for 67. I can't do it for more than two dives.
Much more to tell later. Bit busy sucking it up.
