End of January
Penguin

The crew of Penguin having a drink, the sun was
over the Yard Arm, honest.
Well in the last 2 weeks we have been hard at it,
swimming, snorkelling, windsurfing. Yes we have managed to windsurf from
Penguin and windsurf back, no rescue dinghy required. Still this did
happen at Tobago Cays what more idyllic place could you choose to learn.
We did get some worried looks from the charter boat skippers as we got
close.
So when we left you we were in Martinique. We
went to St Lucia and picked up Niamh and headed south the next day to
Bequia. We stayed here for 5 days storm bound, well very windy
bound. It was the Bequia music festival on the Friday, Saturday and
Sunday. Excellent live music in to the early hours for 2 nights, the
Sunday was an afternoon session thank goodness.
We headed off to Tobago Cays and enjoyed ourselves
there for 2 days. Then to Union Island for supplies before moving
over to Petite St Vincent, more snorkelling and swimming off this private
holiday island.
So we are writing this now at Carriacou,
rocking around on anchor in the bay, will find a more comfortable anchorage
tomorrow.
Since the departure of Jacky, Niamh will now add
the female angle on the voyages of Penguin.
Niamh please take the chair..........
Firstly, hi to Jak and best of luck with all back
in the UK - looking forward to seeing you out here again soon!
It's 10days into my voyage with Penguin - and what
a struggle! The sailing and snorkelling has been fantastic; short-trips so far
but most enjoyable and I'm really looking forward to the longer voyages. Rob and
Norm have made me feel more than welcome on board and are teaching me the finer
arts of wind-surfing and fishing...sadly, I'm struggling on both counts, but
they're patient teachers!
We're spending a day or two here at Carriacou,
before heading a little further south to explore Grenada.
