WE ARE OFF AGAIN -
NO LONG VOYAGES JUST CRUISING UP AND DOWN THE SOUTH FRENCH COAST THIS TIME,
UNTIL THE ENDISH OF SEPTEMBER.
Monday;
After leaving Calais
on Monday morning at 8.00am in pouring rain and about 18 degrees the weather
steadily improved increasing about 1 degree every hour. By the time we
were just South of Lyon it was sunny and 34 degrees. (Sorry to those of you
left in blighty).
We arrive at Port
Napoleon at 6.00pm after some 700 miles - after checking the boat was OK, it was
time for a beer, a quick meal, some wine and some sleep in the Port
Hotel.
Tuesday;
A few jobs done to
the bottom of the boat before it was re-launched at 3.00pm. Wow was it hot and I
am sure you lot at home won't be sorry to hear we struggled to sleep in the
heat.
Wednesday;
Sails, tender etc.
all rigged, to the supermarket to fill the boat up with booze and a little
food. Some of you who know, the booze gets stored in some forward hatches -
the boat is now a little nose heavy as a result - Well I guess we will just have
to drink quickly.
Although it was
again hot and sunny there was a stiff breeze that help keep the boat cooler so a
better nights sleep was had.
We heard from Bob
Nurse (Roanda of Lymington) today as he passed by Port Napoleon on his way to
Toulon - We expect to catch up with him on Friday night. The lucky devil was
flying with a good favourably Westerly wind while tomorrow, when we want to set
off, it is forecasted to be East and on our nose.
