We set off from
Marseille in a fresh Easterly breeze, so right on the nose which was a bit of a
slog. Happily it was sunny and is getting warmer.
Arriving in the
Vieux Port we found that the usual visitors quay was occupied by one super
yacht. Ciotat harbour which used to be a ship building port until the 70's is
now a centre for maintenance and repairs of super yachts. During the afternoon
five more super yachts arrived - one was really a ship.
See photo of one of
the little ones here - my new boat.
Ciotat has restored
my faith (after Marseille) for cheap marinas (19Euros for the night) and
restaurants - we had a five course meal for 13 Euro's (could have had the 10
Euro menu but blow the expense) and 1/2 litre of wine for 2.5 Euros
(unbelievable).
This morning is a
little dull but we will probably head off to
Bandol.
