8th July - Visit to Cadiz

Today we visited Cadiz. Lovely old lanes, houses
& gardens but less old fortification etc. than I expected. Maybe due to the
fact that much was destroyed in a tidal wave in the 17 hundreds.
The plan tomorrow is to go to
Barbate as a half way point to Gibralter.
Partly as the tides are not particularly favourable for a long run and partly as
the forecast is for an Easterly Levante in the Straits which should swing back
to a westerly in a day or two.
