We have been getting some good sailing winds the
last week or so now. The engine has had a good and
deserved rest.
We started heading south from Moraira back to our
winter mooring in Torrevieja passing by Altea, now in Alicanti spending a
day sightseeing.
The first days sail being a nice beat in a steady
17 knots of wind. We had the boat slightly reefed to ease Alison into the boat
heeling and bashing through the sea, plus some training on helming in these
conditions. - See picture.
Yesterday saw a chnge of wind direction leaving us
with a broad reach in 18/22knots of wind - with full sail and 2 metre swell the
boat surfed along at 7 knots plus. - A really nice sail in the
sun.
Today we have visited the castle on the hill above
Alicante. - See photo from the castle down onto the marina, port &
town.
