We set off from Portinax at 7.30am with very light
winds and guess what - wind was on the nose. That's how it stayed for the 8hrs
across to Mallorca. Happily the swell from the high winds earlier in the week
was virtually gone so it was a comfortable trip.
The only wild life we saw was a lilo some 10 miles
off the coast from Ibiza, which given the prevailing winds must have come about
40 miles from Mallorca. We attempted a rescue but one of the tubes was half full
of water so it weighed a ton. We decided it should be sunk as currently a
navigation hazard.
We arrived in Port Andratx about 3.00pm and after a
fairly unhelpful reception we moored up. The Club Nautica was very smart and had
a lovely swimming pool that we spent the rest of the day at.
The town/restaurants etc. were really nice - see
pictures.
